IAC currently maintains a full-time year-round staff of four, adding one or two archaeological technicians for intermittent short term projects in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Independent Archaeological Consulting, LLC (IAC) has an immediate opening for an Archaeological Field/Lab Technician for projects in northern New England. This is a full-time position working out of our archaeology lab at 801 Islington Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
We are looking for an individual with:
• Ability to conduct strenuous outdoor fieldwork tasks in a range of conditions
• strong organizational skills
• experience with Microsoft Access and Excel
• familiarity with and cataloging Pre-Contact (prehistoric) and/or Post-Contact (historic) artifacts
• strong technical writing skills
• research skills
This position is for both lab and field operations. Candidates must have the stamina to consistently conduct fast-paced fieldwork in sometimes rugged terrain or harsh weather conditions.
Applicants must hold a B.S./B.A. in Anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field, and have field school or equivalent experience. Experience with contract archaeology at a CRM firm preferred. Experience with ESRI® ArcGIS is a plus.
